It’s a New Year!
Jan 4th, 2008 by Jyll
I feel like I am catching my breath from celebrating Christmas with family and friends. The weather in Kentucky and Indiana was most cooperative, although I did miss having a white Christmas this year.
For the first time, I made the majority of the gifts I gave. I started just after Thanksgiving crocheting a scarf-hat-mittens set for my two oldest nieces and my Mom. Then came eight pairs of house slippers for the remaining nieces and nephews and both of my sisters. I have the slipper pattern memorized!
For my best friend Lisa, I stained a wooden tea tray and tiled the inside with a glass mosaic. I put a heavy coat of polyurethane over the mosaic as a protecting finish. She really enjoyed it!
I am not doing a list of resolutions this year. I am going to manage some goals like projects in the hopes that I can be more realistic with time constraints and resources. My Q1 goals are to reorganize my “craft room” and to redesign my church’s logo and bulletin.
Have a Blessed New Year
